Building a Rainmaker

By Gary Popiolkowski, teacher

Materials

2 ring stands with rings

Construction

Take the liter bottle and punch holes lengthwise only half of the bottle (on one side).

Adjust rings on ring stand to whatever height you want.

Put soil in paint tray under the ring stands on edge of table so that the bucket or tray on the floor can catch the runoff.

Fill the plastic bottle half way (or else you will leak all over the place) and screw the top on.

Place bottle on the rings and turn bottle so that the holes start a rainshower.

You can experiment with different size holes for different types of rainshowers.
