Where in the World are We?

Overview: Students consider the importance of location. Looking at a globe, they identify the latitude and longitude lines and place their school on geographical coordinates. They locate other collaborating schools and consider the implications of location.

Maps Flat and Spherical

GIS mapping Students can be introduced to GIS observations at any point. Google Earth, for example, provides our map function. In the Investigation Exploring Life, students will map their study site and appreciate the geograhical dimensions they have already considered.

Map machine A variety of maps (physical, geographical, satellite and thematic) are available. You can capture with screenshots in your local computer. Maps can be sent to email addresses.
