If the KeySpan software is loaded correctly and the computer is rebooted, the USB port will become immediately available.

To check your KeySpan connection, attach your KeySpan adaptor to the USB port on your computer. Select Control Panels from your Apple Menu and the KeySpan Serial Assistant that was loaded. Click on Advanced Settings. Click in the box marked Emulate Printer Port if it is not already checked.

On closing the window, you may see a warning to unplug and reconnect the KeySpan adaptor. Click OK and unplug and reconnect your KeySpan adaptor.

The Status window should read Available when you re-open the Advanced Settings.
