For most of the time human beings have been on earth, their being able to read animal tracks was a matter of life or death. Now we can use tracks and signs of animal life to provide indications of what is going on in the natural world around us. Most animal life goes on out of sight, and we have only the tracks and signs to give us information. Many animals, for example, are at their most active while we sleep. So let's find out: With whom are we sharing this wood, this field, this street, and how are our neighbors spending their time?
