The Russian Global Lab project was funded by the World Bank through The Russian National Training Foundation, and was executed by Russian and American staff through the Concord Consortium.

Much of the English version was adapted with permission from the Global Lab Project that had been funded by the National Science Foundation and executed at TERC in Cambridge, MA in the 1990s. Many of the original staff worked also on the "Russian" Global Lab.

TERC and NSF. The authors would like to express deep gratitude to TERC in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA for permitting the use of a number of text and illustration materials it developed in 1991-1996 with support from the National Science Foundation and to Global Lab teachers from different countries. Due to their combined efforts in the dawn of the use of the Internet in education, the Global Lab concept and the Global Lab Curriculum were introduced and piloted in more than 200 middle and high schools in over 30 countries. The current project expands Global Lab to upper elementary levels, building on its foundation an integrated science course for grades 5-6.

Russian Funders and Reviewers. The authors also express their gratitude to the reviewers Maria Demidova,  Natalie Dmitrieva and Tatiana Loginova for their important comments and suggestions, and also to the staff of the Russian National Training Foundation and especially to our Program Officer, Mrs.  Karine Butiagina whose constant attention and support helped to bring the project to its completion.
